چکیده

A recent work of Yin et al. 2013 provides a description of an interesting species Pselaphodes monoceros Yin & Hlaváč, 2013. This species was tentatively placed in the genus Pselaphodes Westwood, 1870 although it displays some characters atypical for the genus, such as nearly symmetrical maxillary palpi, with palpomere III without distinct lateral projection and male sexual character located on the clypeus. On the basis of this species the taxonomical limit of the genus was extended, but the correctness of this placement will have to be confirmed by serious phylogenetic analysis (Yin et al. 2013). The collecting efforts of two Bulgarian scientists, Dr. Petar Beron and Dr. Dimitar Bechev, during their expedition to Nepal in 1984 and 2006, provided rich material of Pselaphinae. Among them a new species of Pselaphodes, closely allied to P. monoceros was discovered. Both, P. monoceros and the new species, inhabit middle altitude regions (2500–2800 m) in Himalaya Mountains (Fig. 1). Their similarity in the habitus (see the description) and the presence of the male sexual character atypical for the genus showed their close relationship and they are probably part of a larger monophyletic species lineage in the genus Pselaphodes, or in the Pselaphodes complex of genera.

Eight species of the genera Pselaphodes Westwood and Labomimus Sharp described from 1870 to 1925 are reviewed, six of them are redescribed, with their major diagnostic characters illustrated. Lectotypes are designated for the following names: Pselaphodes antennatus Bryant, 1915, Pselaphodes simplicicornis Champion, 1925, Pselaphodes spinosus Champion, 1925, and Pselaphodes villosus Westwood, 18...

Two new species, Pselaphodes linae Yin & Li, sp. n. (Hainan, Fujian) and Pselaphodes shii Yin & Li, sp. n. (Hainan) are described from South China. Taiwanophodes minor Hlaváč is reported from outside Taiwan for the first time. Illustrations of major diagnostic features are provided for all treated taxa. The latest key to Chinese Pselaphodes is modified to include the new species.

Notes on Michael Schülke’s pselaphine collections from China. – Tyrini. I. genera Labomimus Sharp, Linan Hlaváč and Pselaphodes Westwood (Coleoptera, Staphylinidae, Pselaphinae)

This paper is the first of a series that deals with Dr. Michael Schülke's collection of Pselaphinae from China. The tyrine genera Labomimus Sharp, Linan Hlaváč and Pselaphodes Westwood are chosen for the first part. The study revealed fourteen new species, all described and illustrated: Labomimus cognatus Yin & Li, sp. n. (Yunnan), Labomimus dabashanus Yin & Li, sp. n. (Hubei, Shaanxi), Labomim...

Further studies on the Pselaphodes complex of genera from China (Coleoptera, Staphylinidae, Pselaphinae)

New data on the Pselaphodes complex of genera (Pselaphitae: Tyrini) from China is presented. The generic limits of Labomimus Sharp and Pselaphodes Westwood are discussed and expanded. A revised key to the genera of the Pselaphodes complex is provided. New geographic evidence suggests that previously believed wide-spread species Pselaphodes tianmuensis Yin, Li & Zhao contains a number of related...

On the identity of Pselaphodes walkeri (Sharp, 1892) (Coleoptera: Staphylinidae: Pselaphinae), with description of a new related species.

The identity of Pselaphodes walkeri (Sharp, 1892) is clarified based on examinations of the holotype and recently collect-ed material from the type locality (Damao Island, Zhoushan Archipelago). Previous records of P. walkeri from West Tian-mushan Mountain (Zhejiang), Baishanzu Natural Reserve (Zhejiang) and Wuyishan Mountain (Jiangxi) are proven to be based on misidentifications, populations t...
